Her eyes had a hurt behind them that I wanted to hug.
Her smile revealed a pain that told me “she falls deeply in love.”
Everyone that knew her told me “don’t waste your time, she is through with love.”
Everything about her was telling me “she is not through with love.”
I could tell she’s met love, yet she never knew love.
I could tell she’s given love, yet she has never been loved.
Then there was that day –
the day that I said “hello beautiful,”
as I simultaneously thought of giving her a hug.
She didn’t reply,
she smiled – and stood there – lovely as a summer’s day.
She must’ve read my mind, as she stepped towards my way;
my eyes must have given it away –
‘cause that day – she put her arms out, to give me a hug.
My heart smiled – I smiled,
wrapped my arms around her – and whispered:
“I’d always imagined what it would be like to feel love.”
That day was such a lovely day – if I may say;
that day was the day – love came my way,
that day was the day – I embraced love.
I smelled roses that day – it was such a beautiful day.
I remember the day; it was such an unforgettable day –
the day love bloomed my way…
love, peace, and happiness were abloom in hug.
Oh it was such a lovely day – that day;
I remember the day; it was such an unforgettable day –
the day love bloomed my way…
the ice water in my veins began to precipitate happiness
as my heart began to melt in the presence of her glow;
I knew I’d never want to let her go, as her eyes greeted me aglow with love.
That day, I smelt roses in the room – and I embraced love.
