IMPACT > Income!
This is how you make a difference in the world.

Shout out to LEGO for recognizing: IMPACT is greater than Income.

This is literacy outreach at its best! –
This is what Helen Keller meant when she implied vision is better than sight. –
This is how you tear down barriers and BUILD A BETTER WORLD.

The Strings Tying Us Together (Defining Culture)

band together, peace love and harmony, the arts, the common ground collective, the culture of us, the key of life, the symphony of life

The ARTS tend to bring us together…

Even in a war torn world,
poetry – music – and art would always string together

In the symphony of life,
That little art in heART shall help us heART the ARTS and connect us forever

Although, at times, we may find it hard to string together common ground,
As we orchestrate our differences in the key of life, the culture of us shall resound

As the inclusiveness of the violin, viola, cello, double bass, and harp string together a beautiful sound,
So too shall the diversity of us create harmony

For the strings tying us together shall always be tied to peace – love – and harmony,
the common ground collective shall always be found in the beauty of banding together

My poems are not poems…
Yet my heartstrings strike a chord amongst those that see the beauty in banding together

And I say that to say:
How long must ye single each other out before ye band together?

As the poets put words together,
The musicians bring instruments together,
And the artists blend colors together,
So too must all walks of mankind come together

As dialect is not detected in laughter,
Joy is the instrument that brings forth the cliché “that is music to my ears!”

For how sweet the sound of a foreign dialect,
When love is the universal language and common ground is shared

To become familiar with your neighbor’s traditions and customs is to erase your fears

“When we’re defining culture, it’s often about how you can turn something that’s not yours into your own. I always felt that Bach was my music — I lived my whole life living and experiencing this music almost every day. It’s in my skin, it’s in my bones, it’s in my memory – it’s in all my experiences. And I believe that until we stop becoming human, Bach’s music is going to be continually listened to, because of the kind of understanding that he brings to human nature. It is one way that #cultureconnectsus.”

Quit Your Sh*t America

dear america, disproportionate media coverage, the face of terrorism

I don’t care to hear about his adopted parents b

It’s apparent to me, this country could care less about a child having a mother or a father

Apparently, you keep forgetting who’s the true terrorists in this country

Need I remind you, you kidnapped my ancestors
Raped my mother and castrated my father

Quit your sh*t America

Seventeen people were taken away from mothers and fathers

Fourteen students will never have the opportunity to become mothers and fathers

Quit your sh*t America

Why are you reporting about this coward’s adopted mother and father?!

I’m lost. Why do we give a sh*t about the loss
of this mass murderer’s adopted mother and father?

Is that a segue to adopting new gun laws?

Are you diverting the attention towards mental health care in lieu of tougher gun laws?

Oh, I get it… You’re attempting to decriminalize You and Yours

Funny how the confines of the law never seem to confine all of y’all

And by all of y’all I’m referring to those of y’all that exclaim all lives matter,

those of y’all that exclaim the opioid crisis is a medical matter,

those of y’all that try to paint these mass murders as victims of a mental health matter

Expletive – expletive all of y’all,
I got an epithet of expletives to address all of y’all

Quit your sh*t America, I am utterly appalled

For centuries terrorism has been cloaked in white sheets
With a slight southern drawl

Yet y’all wanna build a wall and stonewall questions about Guantanamo Bay

I am utterly appalled, I don’t know what else to say…
Terrorism is homegrown in the U – S – of – A

People Are People

humanity, humankind, humans, kindness, respect

People are people;
it doesn’t matter what they look like,
it doesn’t matter what their language sounds like,
people are people.

People needed to be treated like they matter;
I don’t care if they’re filthy rich or poor,
it doesn’t matter if they smell like a million bucks or the scent of alcohol is seeping through their pores,
people need to be treated like they matter.

Jesus had shaggy hair and flip flops;
so who are you to judge?

They say judge not the garments
yet you walk around with hate in your blood.

Keep turning your nose up,
someday you’re gonna get punched in the face,
then you can really turn your nose up and smudge your face with that hate in your blood.

Every person you encounter should be treated with respect.

The rich man and the poor man,
they both deserve respect.

The man, the woman,
and the children,
they’re all human;
they all need to be treated with respect.
