black girl magic, good vibes only, hey natural hair, sage, smudging, sweetgrass, wcw

I got a thing for women that burn sage
And rock box braids

I’m a fan of sisterlocks with the updo or the french braids
I know my wcw is out there somewhere knockin’ Erykah Badu smudging sage
Wafting good vibes in the air

I got an affinity for kinky hair
I’m looking for a melanated sister, crowned with natural hair
She could don a headwrap or rock Jane Carter Solution in her hair

I got short hair love too, you could shave your head boo
I don’t care
I’ll take a baldheaded queen with style and flair
Long as your energy is soothing to my soul, we could roll

I need someone whose energy is healing to my soul
Hey Natural Hair, I could feel it in the air
I love you’re energy, you’re such a beautiful soul
Maybe we could stroll through a bookstore
Or discourse privately amid swirls of incense and remnants of neo – soul

You can catch me manifesting with ancient mystics, scrubbing sweetgrass smoke into my palms
But don’t be alarmed
Bonita Applebum, you gotta put me on

I mean…
It’s nothin’ but good vibes over here
Dear Black Coffee,
There’s no need for chamomile tea or lavender oil whenever you are near

To clear the air
I represent the good vibes only tribe over here
Yet I find myself awaiting that sweet awakening, my dear
Yeah, I’m sweet on that Black Girl Magic
It feels like daylight, daylight whenever you appear
I gotta keep you near

I mean,
Everybody loves the sunshine
Uh, yeah
I’m digging your whole vibe
Oh, gonna make you mine
Light the sage, let’s vibe

Starry Night

afro bloomin', black girl magic, cafe terrace at night, dawn, hopeless romantic, star eyes, starry night, sunflowers

Sweeter than the sound of mandolins on starry nights

Timeless as the beauty of the Starry Night

Oh star eyes,

Let me stargaze at the magic in your eyes tonight

Meet by the Café Terrace at Night

Maybe we can go on an art stroll or finger paint by candlelight

Let my fingers trace your outline

Let your hands fade into my hands,

I don’t want to know your hand from mine

Let me marvel at that Black Girl Magic neath the moonlight

I wanna serenade you with poems like:

“She walks in beauty, like the night

Of cloudless climes and starry skies;

And all that’s best of dark and bright” 1

“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.” 2

“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where…” 3

“I carry your heart with me (I carry it my heart)

I am never without it (anywhere I go you go, my dear…)” 4

“Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?” 5

Thou art the dawn that draws songbirds,

My Woman Crush Wednesday, everyday

Sweeter than the sound of mandolins on starry nights

Timeless as the beauty of the Starry Night

Oh Queen of 10,000 moons,

This loves jones got me seeking to be your Brother to the night

Come ‘ere,

I wanna shower you with kisses,

Plant a flower in your hair

Is that alright?

It’s like I wish upon a star when I smell the coconut oil in your hair

I got a thing for that twist out with the flower near your ear

Portraits of you in a yellow sundress with the afro bloomin’ dawn on me

Like honeybees alighting on Sunflowers on sunny days

Oh, how I adore your natural hair journey

And ah, that body language has so much to say…

That inner glow is like whoa

Oh, star eyes,

In the darkest hour you tend to brighten the day

Picture yellow roses with a message card that reads:

“Gather ye rosebuds while ye may” 6

And I say that to say…

I wanna shower you with flowers just because…

Just because you brighten my day

The very thought of you is reminiscent to Nina Simone’s Wild As the Wind on replay

Thank you for the essence of all that is you…

Consider this a memento to immortalize the beauty of your dark skin,

Those star eyes,

And the way you brighten my day

000 moons, 10, black girl magic, dear awkward black girl, i get you, she's strange and i like it

Sundress looking lovely as the sunrise
All that Black Girl Magic with the magic in your eyes
How could I not get you? Lets make it official
DEAR AWKWARD BLACK GIRL, I Get You
Who would’ve thought I’d get you
YOU’RE ALL I NEED
I see 10,000 moons when I’m with you
I’ll gallivant around the galaxies and swoon Oshun just to get you

a couple of forevers, afro bloomin', black girl magic, bookish, cafe terrace at night, starry night, this magic moment

The only magic I still believe in is love…
Ms. three ninety-eight point two, where are you?
I frequent bookstores and libraries in search of you.
Stop me before I fall down the rabbit hole of love.

Gimme your love, gimme your love.

Don’t make me pull a rabbit out the hat,
Let me get lost in the magic in your eyes.
I got a thing for Black Girl hips and chocolate thighs.

Like a dove from a top hat,
You’re such a beautiful surprise.
I see you living life like it’s golden with them diamond eyes.

As the stars up above, your eyes shimmer of love.
I’m talkin’ forehead kisses and tight hugs,
White rose petals, cocoa butter back rubs.

I was through with love then – abracadabra – you appeared:
afro bloomin’ with flowers in your hair,
Hershey’s Kiss skin dipped in a tight sundress with the bookish eyewear.

In my darkest hour, the warmth of your smile was like a breath of fresh air…
On starry nights I wanna sit by the café terrace and adore the moonlight in your hair.
I know why the songbird sings but why do birds suddenly appear?

I’m cuckoo for the juju, the hoodoo is lulu…
What are these strange emotions that I’m feeling?
What is this love you speak of? Help me understand.
Put your hand in my hand, lay your head on my chest,
Listen to my heart neath the silent night’s air.

Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me,
I wanna be the sweet nothings in your ear;
Like sleight of hand, I don’t wanna know my hand from your hand,
Let me put a ring on that finger right there.

Why do I get butterflies whenever you are near?
Why did Pablo write Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair?
Love is an antidepressant, I swear.

In the shadows of my mind, you are always there;
Please tell me what keeps you on my mind.

Did you put a spell on me? Tell me you’re something magical;
That Black Girl Magic got me losin’ my mind,
This kind of  voodoo is hard to find.

Could this be love? I want to taste of your lips like wine…

The magnetism of your ism got this hopeless romantic hoping to turn two into one this time.

I need to turn this magic moment into a couple of forevers this time.

I’m mesmerized by the scent of coconut oil
and women that are loyal.

If you rock bantu knots or a twistout,
woman I adore you. 😍😍

Yeah – I’m a sucker for kinky tresses
and tight dresses.

bantu knots, black girl magic, black girls rock, black love matters, ebony essence, kinky twists, melanated, natural and happy, natural hair journey, self-appreciation, self-love, twist out

I’m a fan of black girl hips and full lips…
I got a thing for that ol’ black girl magic, I must admit.

I’m a sucka for melanated exoticness and kinky twists.

Ain’t nothin’ like a beautiful sista…
afrobloomin’,
melanin poppin’,
sweet naturalista.

This is dedicated to the natural hair movement;
keep doing what you’re doin’…
Oh how I adore how black girls rock…
Yes! BLACK GIRLS ROCK!

God bless whoever coined the phrase “Black Girls Rock!”
Shout out to Beverly Bond
and all the black women that applaud black women;
I’m lovin’ the bond.
Yes! Black Girls Rock!

I like ’em black and educated,
highly melanated…
black love matters,
you could love it or hate it.
I need a pretty brown that’ll slay with cornrows or locs.
I’m looking for a love that’s not afraid to rock bantu knots.
I’ll probably tie the knot with a beautiful soul crowned with a twist out.

She’s the crown jewel and my muse;
when I meet her, she’ll be natural and happy…
eyebrows on fleek,
pearly white teeth with the twist out.

I got a thing for twists, puffs, and all that stuff; don’t get it twisted.
Let’s be specific;
I got a love jones for chocolate skin tones…
naturally she’s dope,
word to my shea butter soap.

I see heaven in her eyes ’cause the world is not enough.
But where is she?
I’m looking for the woman with the FREE ANGELA tee…

Her heart is golden yet she’s a diamond in the rough;
sweetest thang I’ve ever known yet her shoe game’s tough.

We need to break the Willie Lynch chip…
and she’s a symbol of hope.
We need to kill the Negropean…
and her iconic curls are a symbol of hope.
When I need to know black is beautiful, it’s team natural that keeps me afloat.

Her natural hair journey is an expedition of self-love and self-appreciation…
I had to take a moment to spread love and express my appreciation.
Brown skin…
I’m glad to see you lovin’ the skin you’re in;
’cause naturally you’re dope.

Yeah, I’m a fan of black girl hips and full lips…
’cause naturally she’s dope.

afro bloomin', black girl magic, black girls rock, black love matters, melanin poppin'

I like ’em afro bloomin’ with the melanin poppin’…
FREE ANGELA tee, HANDS OFF ASSATA button rockin’.

Never had a love like this but aint no stoppin’…
When I meet her, we’ll reverse the Willie Lynch doctrine;
the movement’s not an option.

I need a ten with Nefertiti’s allure;
she could be vegan or omnivore,
long as her heart is pure.

I need a Coretta Scott, to invest in my intellectual stock.
I need a Betty Dean, to safeguard my Deen.

I need to convene with a Nubian queen that won’t intervene;
when I meet her, she’ll understand my debt to society…
her wisdom will hold my interest, we’ll invest in society.

I’m looking for that ebony essence to jet by the side of me;
I need a Harriet Tubman with Lauryn Hill writing skills.
She could be fly as Ruby Dee,
long as she’s fierce as Ruby Bridges when it’s time to build.

#sideeyebae, Aunt Esther, black girl magic, black women's attitude, if looks could kill, side eye, watch out sucka

She’s nice and lovely…
but her side eye game is mean;
she’ll Aunt Esther you.

I admit, I love…
the infamous attitude
and side eye glances.

She sits quietly…
silently judging, speaking
with side eye sidebars.

That black girl magic
paired with that bold attitude;
nothing more to say.

Where’s #sideeyebae at?
Ms. communicate with looks,
I’m looking for you. 😉

afro bloomin', au naturel, black girl magic, black girls rock, Dazhane Leah, I love the skin I'm in, spring beauty, springtime beauty

She walks in beauty…

Mahogany Bliss Lips
with an Afro Bloomin’.

Oh how I love to see you working all that Black Girl Magic;
keep doing what your doin’…

don’t stop, get it, get it,
strike a pose,
vogue;
work that beautiful brown,
pretty brown brown
au naturel beauty.

You should be my sunshine,
let’s dance in the rain;
you could be my muse,
let’s go to museums…
I wanna place art on the walls that you built around your broken heart,
I wanna draw you close so you can canvass my heart…
the very thought of helps get my mind right,
you inspire me to write beautiful things.

My heart leans toward the warmth of your smile,
as a flower bends towards the sun in spring.

When I look into your eyes,
I understand why the birds sing in spring.

When I get lost in your eyes,
I discover sonnets and all sorts of beautiful things.

Oh how I adore your spring beauty…

Afro Bloomin’,
crazy kinky adorned with a spring beauty.

This is an ode to afros,
cornrows,
dreadlocks,
box braids,
and natural twists;
all that ol’ Black Girls Rock exoticness:
this is for the Afro-Essence,
jet-setting, Ebony, Essence springtime beauty.

This is dedicated to Dazhane Leah,
Ebony – Jet, Essence,
Upscale, Sister 2 Sister,
Black Enterprise, Hype Hair,
Sophisticate’s Black Hair,
Black Beauty & Hair,
Spell Magazine,
The Oprah Magazine,
and all the brown skin Queens that embrace their African features;
this is dedicated to the Afro Bloomin’ photo set,
this is for those iconic Angela Davis snapshots,
this is that “Woolly Hair and Don’t Care” inspire the youth to celebrate Black Beauty.

This is dedicated to Chocolate Skin and Coconut Oil:
this is that Shea Butter,
that Coconut Butter,
that Mango Butter,
and all the Butters,
this is that brown skin hydration;
this is for that ol’ “I’m Black and I’m Proud” rejuvenation,
that death of the Negropean –
rise of the “I Love The Skin I’m In” nation,
this is a jubilation of Black Beauty.

Thank goodness for sundresses and open toes,
full lips and black girl hips…
heaven only knows –
nah, I think we all know:
there’s nothing like an Afro Bloomin’ –
body boomin’
with an afro-mental…
I need an around the way girl
with a hint of sassines
and just a touch of love;
you know that brown skin quintessential…
I don’t care if she’s vegetarian or vegan,
long as she lives golden and loves reading;
I want to exchange oral sentiments
with a pigment powered woman that stimulates my mental…
Brown skin, it’s like ecstasy when you’re next me;
the magic in your eyes makes my heart beat like Afro-Cuban instrumentals…
Brown skin, I adore the way you dance to the drum of your own beat;
I think weird is wonderful
and you’re looking rather unique…
nothing could compare to your springtime beauty;
the first time we made eye contact, you knocked me off my feet…
this is for the Sisters going natural,
embracing their black beauty;
I’m Loving that Black Beauty…
peace to the Moons and the Stars
for redefining that ol’ black beauty…
this is for my Afro Bloomin’
Au Naturel Springtime Beauty.
